Departed the beautiful anchorage at Murrangingi Island at 6am as the sun rose for the short 30 nm run to Bigge Island.
Had a 15 kt ESE breeze to blow us across Montague Sound past Prudhoe Islands to Wary Bay on the NW end of Bigge Island. Good to be sailing again and giving the engines a rest.
Wary Bay is the site of Aboriginal wandjina rock paintings and since we have a permit from the Kalumburu tribe I organised prior to leaving Brisbane, we checked them out.
Baly at anchor in Wary Bay, Bigge Island with some amazing sculpted rock formations in the foreground and background.
At dusk the cruise vessel Great Escape, whom we saw at King George River, arrives to share the anchorage. Scott and Kate who we met at the Twin Falls, came over to say hello and ask if we needed anything. Prof cooked lamb steaks for dinner.
