Albany. Day 121

As dawn emerged we were 80 nm from Albany, not as cold as we thought it may have been but a dark, rainy night with no moon. Passed several ships during the night, no lights visible but we could track them on AIS. Our overnight 12 hour run from 6pm to 6am was 75 nm. At midday we passed Peaceful Bay, a possibility to stay overnight but  we decided to continue onto Albany albeit we will arrive there in darkness. It is quite a wide and open harbour and Jim has been there three times before.

Chatham Island is quite distinctive with its Needles Point, it signals half way between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.

Korean freighter Joo Bok came within 2 miles of us, she was headed for Esperance.

Baly enjoyed a glorious square run with her sails wing and wing throughout the afternoon with a 15 kt Westerly sending her towards the east. Notice the blue skies!

Since we will be reaching Albany quite late this evening we will have dinner onboard, Spaghetti Basciaola. Tied up at Albany Marina at 9 pm.
