Day 39.  Annapolis Naval Academy

Gracie is moored at the fourth  jetty near the bridge on the west side of the creek. Downtown is beyond that at the top and the Naval Academy dominates the western entrance to Spa Creek at the top right.

Spent four hours at the Naval Academy, the Navy’s officer school, doing the guided tour and the Naval Museum, Deveen took 6 hours, couldn’t drag him away! We watched the traditional watch change at midday shown below.

No one spends money like Uncle Sam and it was evident here. The largest dormitory in the world and a “chapel” that looked more like a cathedral with an amazing cupola. 18,000 people apply to enrol each year and only 1100 are accepted and they boast a 90% graduation rate after four years.
