Day 60. Waterford NY

Early departure at 7pm from Saugerties in clear conditions for about an hour before the rain made us reliant on radar, AIS and GPS plotter again. Passed by Albany, the capital of New York State, at midday. The photo below shows the Albany skyline with the Erastus Corning Building the tallest and the State University of New York in the foreground.

We transited the first of the locks at Troy today with a French Canadian trawler heading back to Canada via the Champlain Canal. That means he is heading further North while we turn West on the Erie Ship Canal. We are moored tonight at the Waterford Town Free Dock at the foot of the Lock 2 which is the first of the locks in the Erie Ship Canal.
