Day 97.  St James Harbor, Beaver Island, MI

Daybreak red light refraction at St Ignace Marina as we go ashore for showers before an early start after being weather bound for two days.

The Mackinac Bridge looked extremely impressive as we passed below it and headed West into Lake Michigan. About halfway to Beaver Island we went through a narrow passage at Grays Reef just before an ore carrier, the Mississagi came he other way. She looked quite old and when we checked her wiki details we found she was launched in 1943. That is about two and a half the normal service life of a commercial ship.

St James Harbour is quite an enchanting haven with white beaches, clear turquoise water and lush green vegetation. The island is referred to as the Emerald Isle because of its Irish history and its appearance.
