You know you are getting close to the Mississippi when you see paddle steamers, we saw three stern wheelers today. The US has so many towns they must struggle to give them a name. So this morning we left Ottawa (Illinois), went past Peru and then Rome, tomorrow to Havana, next week Cairo, all very cosmopolitan.
