Day 115.  Cape Girardeau, Mo

Had a feed at the Kimmswick Blue Owl Restaurant yesterday as we will be away from civilisation for several days. I had roast beef and a quarter of an apple pie like Mary is holding in the photo. Deveen had southern fried chicken. I was interviewed by local journalist Claudia and will appear in an article she is writing for riverbills.com

We saw the largest tow we have seen yet which was seven wide and seven barges long, 49 in total. Considering that the barges are 200 ft long and 35 ft wide the whole tow raft represents quite an obstacle and you have to admire the captains for being able to manouvre around the channel corners and other tows.
