Day 117.  Green Turtle Bay Resort, Kentucky

Came up the pretty Cumberland River this morning and saw a large nest on electricity pylon and could see a couple of American Bald Eagles that had made their home there.

We are moored at the five star Green Turtle Resort, decided we should treat ourselves after two nights at anchor and prior to that at Hoppies Marina which doesn’t have any amenities. Surprisingly this has the same marina rate as Hoppies and you get an indoor swimming pool, restaurant ( behind and above Gracie in the VIP berth), lounge and spa. Our position is about halfway between Chicago and Mobile, Alabama and we are at the head of Kentucky Lake. We will rest for a day or two then get a hire car to visit Nashville and the Jack Daniels Distillery.
