Day 128.  Midway Marina, Fulton, Mississippi

Enjoyed sundowners last night at Aquayacht Harbor. We had no sooner moored Gracie when Tim said “you look like you have come a long way”. We then literarily took 10 steps across to his dockside outdoor setting. We were subsequently joined by his partner Ginger who gave us some very tasty homemade crackers to eat there and some to take with us as well as her recipe.

We did three locks today as well as passing through the 27 mile Divide Cut, across the hills between the Tennessee and Tombigbee watersheds. Only completed in 1984 it is an amazing feat of civil engineering involving more excavation than the Panama Canal. We have reached our highest point of 414 feet above sea level and will now be descending all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico.  We arrived at Midway Marina at 4pm and were welcomed by Spot the marina dog,
