We were most grateful to the Bobby’s Restaurant staff, Sally, Shiela ( B. de Votion) and Donna for feeding us so well the last couple of nights. The session crew Ted, Mike and me knocking back some sundowners on Bobby’s verandah.
Long day down to Mobile covering 130 miles, we had two very heavy downpours that reduced visibility to less than a hundred feet. So pleased to have radar, AIS and plotters. We caught up with Glenn and Kathy on Dads Surprise just before reaching Mobile but they were headed for a marina on the Eastern shore of the bay.
Mobile is a busy port where the Ausralian company Austal building stealth warships and a heavy duty lifting ship caught our eye. Arrived at Grand Mariner Marina at 3pm and had a late lunch, a bacon, onion and cheese hotdog.
Crazy Aussies. Glad to see the trip going so successful up to this point. I want to thank you two guys for being a wonderful ‘canary in the coal mine’ for my trip down this fall. I knew I could count on you two to provide a wonderful running commentary for good watering holes and eats heading south. I wish you continued enjoyment and still waters through the balance of the trip.
